Breakwater Hospitality has announced that they intend to bring over 100 new jobs to the Fort Lauderdale Riverfront district including bartenders, cocktail servers, host staff, bussers, security, dock masters, and bathroom attendants in preparation for the launch of The Wharf Fort Lauderdale.
To give the community and potential employees a first look at the space, The Wharf has released four new renderings of the concept, occupying 1.25 acres on the city’s historic riverfront overlooking the New River.
Inspired by summers in the Hamptons and Fort Lauderdale’s casual riverfront, the nautically themed space will include communal tables under shaded tents, Astroturf grass bordered by five local Fort Lauderdale food pop-ups from the most sought-after chefs in the area, and dockage for easy boat access.
While the space will echo design inspiration from the Miami location, their Broward outpost will showcase unique elements and an amped-up guest experience. “We started by replicating staple features from our original Wharf Miami design, then refined the furniture selections and upgraded two feature bars. We added an entrance pergola, ceiling treatments and photo opportunities with fresh nautical elements inspired by the Ft. Lauderdale waterfront aesthetic,” explained Heather Read, Co-owner of the Miami-based event support and execution company, Hxecute.
Job Fairs are scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th from 12pm to 4pm and Thursday, October 10th from 4pm to 8pm at the Riverside Hotel’s Rooftop Conference Room located at 620 East Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
The Wharf’s opening, along with Chef Jose Mendin’s launch of sister concept, Rivertail, marks a pivotal milestone in the ongoing revival of Las Olas Riverfront. The Wharf Fort Lauderdale is a partnership amongst Founders of Breakwater Emi Guerra and Alex Mantecon, CEO of Merrimac Ventures, Dev Motwani, and CEO of Barreto Group, Rodney Barreto.
